Institute for Neurology of Senses and Language
At the Institute for Neurology of Senses and Language of the Hospital St. John of God people with deafness and hearing impairment, as well as people with language, communication and learning disorders are provided with diagnostic, therapeutic, social and pedagogic offers.
All these people have in common that the individual potential is limited by their restricted ability to communicate. The reasons for the communication and speech impairmant are dysfunction of sensory organs and/or of neuronal processing.
1999 Lebenswelt Schenkenfelden - a therapeutic living and working environment for deaf and deafblind people with additional disabilities - was established. Lebenswelt Pinsdorf and Lebenswelt Wallsee - two further services in Austria - were opened 2011 and 2014.
Aim of the Institute for Neurology of Senses and Language is to foster developmental potentialities for equal social participation.
